Meet Our Family
Hello, we are Lauren, Arcelio (“RC”), Seamus and Molly. We’ve been together for 5 years and married for almost 3 years. We have both always known we were meant to be parents and we are so thankful to you for taking the time to get to know more about us. We have two puppies, Seamus a wheaten terrier, who is almost 3 years old and Molly, a labradoodle who is almost 1 years old, they are both friendly and playful. Lauren works as a litigation paralegal and RC for the power company. Lauren has flexibility at work and will be able to work from home often. Her office is 10 minutes from home. We live in a traditional colonial home which has a nice-sized fenced in yard with ample space to play and a wonderful school district and lots of other children on the block. Lauren has been a busy bee setting up the nursery, which we painted a pretty gray and decorated with elephants.
In our free time, we enjoy spending time with our family, friends, cooking, and playing with our puppies. We do Sunday Fundays a few times a month, this could be a visit to the zoo, an alpaca farm, lunch and a movie or apple/peach/pumpkin picking to name a few. These days are about a fun adventure. We also love to travel. Cruising is our favorite vacation and we cannot wait to share our love of travel and adventure with our child.
Our moms are very eager and excited to become grandmas (again). Lauren’s mom lives 5 minutes away and RC’s mom lives near Disney World. Lauren and RC have one niece and 6 nephews from their siblings. They range in age from 14-23 years old, in fact their oldest nephew just got engaged. Lauren is the youngest of three, Tina and Kevin. RC is the oldest of three, Renee and Elle. We both have big families and they are just as supportive, eager and excited as we are and can’t wait for the new addition. Lauren has 21 first cousins, and RC has almost double that. Lauren’s aunt and uncle adopted her cousin when he was a baby, so we have a built-in support system.
We have an amazing group of friends that cannot wait to be aunties and uncles to a new baby.
We thought we would give you some fun facts about us:
Lauren’s bucket list includes living a year in Istanbul as it is her favorite city in the world;
Lauren always wanted a niece – even asking Santa for one when she was three – she has 5 nephews and one niece;
As a child, Lauren would sit and mother her dollies for hours, just chatting away. People would think she had friends over – nope just talking to her dollies;
Lauren knows how to knit and crochet and has already made 2 baby blankets, 3 baby hats, including a Yoda hat and is working on a baby sweater. She also has baby sweaters her grandma knit for her when she was a baby;
RC is a history buff and loves to read and watch History Channel, especially about Medieval History and WWII;
RC is a coffee snob, and orders Cuban coffee from a place in Key West, FL;
RC helped raise his little adopted sister, Elle, who was born addicted to drugs, he was 19 when she was born;
RC is a foodie, and will try almost any type of food, except for Lauren’s favorite – French fries in a chocolate milk shake – he thinks that is a crime;
We understand that as a birth parent you are faced with an extremely difficult decision. We want you to know that if you chose us as adoptive parents, we will raise your child in a stable home and we will love them unconditionally. We hope to maintain a positive relationship with you in the future. No matter what decision you make, we wish you all the best and hope that you have a happy life.
