Infant Foster Care
Foster care is provided for newborn infants and children who are in need of temporary
foster care while their parents are receiving counseling through the agency regarding
permanency planning. Although, a number of our babies are born healthy and in need of a permanent loving family, there are more who are born medically fragile.
The Children's Home Society of New Jersey recognizes the benefit to the child of the individualized care afforded through foster family care, and the intrinsic dangers to the child who is deprived of a nurturing relationship with parent figures. Consistent with this philosophy, the agency maintains foster homes that provide loving care, interest, understanding and stimulation for children conducive to their growth and development.
